To commemorate Remembrance Day on Parliament Hill, thousands of Canadians lined up early at the National War Memorial on Friday. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau laid a wreath to honour the sacrifices of soldiers, while Gov. Gen. David Johnston and his wife Sharon attended in military uniform.

Colleen Fitzpatrick, this year's Silver Cross Mother, laid a wreath on behalf of all mothers who lost a child in conflict.
