The federal minister of emergency preparedness says border guards have been advised that British Columbia residents can cross into the United States for essential supplies because of flooding in the province after some were reportedly facing fines or told they would have to quarantine on returning to Canada.

The federal government has added fully vaccinated foreign nationals to the ranks of travellers who are once again welcome on Canadian soil.

Canada is once again allowing U.S. citizens and permanent residents back into the country, provided they've been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

After nearly 16 months of rigid travel restrictions, Canada is finally starting to loosen the rules — but only for a specific few.

The agency that guards Canada's borders is putting would-be travellers on notice: if you're not eligible to enter the country now, you won't be on Monday.
