If there has to be another election in the next few years, let’s hope it’s one that’s defined by some new faces — and new voices, writes columnist Max Fawcett.

The federal NDP is pushing the Liberal government to make permanent the emergency COVID-19 benefits it put in place early in the pandemic, arguing in a non-binding motion on a guaranteed livable income that such an effort would help eradicate poverty.

Several MPs are currently sponsoring bills meant to hold the government to account on its climate commitments.
