A wrongful dismissal claim against the Royal Bank of Canada has exposed a series of allegations about racism and sexism in the workplace, adding to existing accusations of attempted bribery, lax oversight and a laissez-faire attitude towards company policies. 

Kinder Morgan's plan to raise money for its Trans Mountain expansion through an initial public offering could not come at a more awkward time.

The review comes after CBC reported some employees from Canada's five biggest banks alleged that they felt pressured to upsell, trick and even lie to customers to meet unrealistic sales targets.

Barclays Capital calculated that Canada's Big Six banks — CIBC, Royal Bank, Scotiabank, TD Bank, BMO and National Bank — took $1.3 billion in energy industry loan loss provisions over five quarters.
