A fast-burning wildfire threatening West Kelowna, B.C., is challenging fire crews as they brace for what the operations director with BC Wildfire Service has predicted will be the most challenging days of the provincial wildfire season.

A flood watch covered the Skeena region of northwestern British Columbia on Tuesday as unseasonably warm temperatures swelled rivers in many areas of the province.

Two wildfires fanned by gusty winds roared through British Columbia's southern Interior leaving behind a trail of destroyed properties, says a spokeswoman for the area's regional district.
