Alia Dharssi is a Vancouver-based freelance journalist who writes about immigration, women's rights and international affairs, among other social and political issues. Previously, as the 2016 Michelle Lang Fellow at the Calgary Herald and Postmedia News, she spent a year reporting on Canadian immigration policy and produced "Workers Without Borders:Immigration and Canada's Economy," a six-part series that was published across the country.
