About Dana Filek-Gibson
Dana Filek-Gibson is Canada's National Observer's associate editor. She also writes The Weekly, a newsletter that connects the dots on the climate emergency for thousands of Canadians.
A writer and editor with ties to Canada, the United States and Vietnam, she spent seven years in Ho Chi Minh City covering arts and culture, travel, history and urban development. Most recently, she worked as supervising copy editor at Global News in Toronto, editing a range of stories, from breaking local and national news to lifestyle features, investigative reporting and enterprise projects.
A dual U.S.-Canadian citizen, Dana grew up in Michigan and holds a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston, Mass.
