About Giulia Fiaoni
Giulia Fiaoni is a journalist from Los Angeles, currently living in Toronto. For the past year she has worked for the Investigative Journalism Bureau at the University of Toronto on the Toronto Star's Generation Distress series, which explores the spiking demand for mental health services among youth across Canada. In 2019, she was the recipient of the Anne Goldman Award for best investigative piece covering a social justice issue for her reporting on hidden homelessness. More recently, she was nominated for the John H. McDonald Climate Reporting Award for her reporting on sustainability education.
