About Kevin Tachie

Kevin Tachie is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Manitoba. He is majoring in Sociology and minoring in Catholic Studies. His other writing includes a constitutional analysis of the racism that Black Jesuits experienced within their Catholic orders. Outside of the classroom, he operates as a coordinator for the Barbershop Talk Series: Black Men and Misconceptions, through the Afro-Caribbean Mentorship Program. The Barbershop Talk Series is a communal initiative that provides Black men and boys with safe spaces to discuss their mental health. Under the supervision of Dr. Warren Clarke, he has used his sociological skill set and personal experiences to create questions and topics that encourage attendees to have holistic understandings of the lived realities of Black men and boys in Barbados, Winnipeg, and Montreal.
