Liz McDowell
Liz McDowell is the senior campaigns director at Stand.earth, an international non-profit environmental organization operating out of Vancouver. Liz directs Stand’s campaigns related to Canadian forest protection and oil and gas policy, and helps local governments transition off fossil fuels as part of the organization’s SAFE Cities initiative. Since joining the team in 2017, Liz has helped Stand develop strategies to engage close to one million people in environmental advocacy, and reach corporate and government decision-makers in innovative and unexpected ways. Liz lives on unceded Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam and Squamish territories in Vancouver, and when she’s not working, she’s generally wrangling cats, toddlers, and/or teenagers (she has all three), tending her backyard garden, or planning bike adventures.
