PJ Nyman is the corporate engagement manager at Mercy For Animals Canada. PJ earned a master’s in social and political thought from York University and has worked as a professional animal advocate for the past decade. Based in Toronto, PJ supports Canadian food companies in adopting and implementing meaningful animal welfare standards and developed Canada’s annual corporate animal welfare scorecard. In addition to presenting on a variety of animal advocacy topics at conferences in the United States and Canada, PJ has published academic papers in philosophy and political theory and served on the board of a capacity-building organization working to advance racial equity.
