Tanjina Mirza
Dr. Tanjina Mirza, chief programs officer for Plan International Canada, is a strategic leader in international development. She leads the international program department that designs, implements, creates innovative solutions and provides technical support to improve international development program quality and effectiveness around the world.
Tanjina is a medical doctor with masters in community health and PhD in demography. During her years of work in the international development sector, Tanjina has worked for research institutes, non-governmental organizations, and as a consultant for UN agencies in several countries. She taught in many universities and has traveled to more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Central and South America in various capacities. Poverty alleviation in international development is not just a job, it is her passion and commitment.
